Doğallık ve yapaylık sınırında bio-konstrüktif sanat

Abstract

Bio-teknolojik yöntemler medeniyetin gelişiminde etken ve belirleyici olmuşlardır. Tohum ıslahı, mayalama, aşılama ve benzeri doğal tekniklerin yerini günümüzde laboratuvar ortamında geliştirilen ve canlı dokunun yetiştirildiği, yapılandırıldığı veya manipüle edildiği sentetik teknikler almaktadır. Bio-teknoloji ana başlığı altında yer alan moleküler biyoloji, nanoteknoloji, genetik mühendisliği ile transjenik ve benzeri çalışmalar tekil organizmanın yapısal düzenlenmesi veya yetiştirilmesinden başlayarak toplumsal sistemin tümel varlığının belirlenmesine açılan geniş bir spektrumda işlerler. Benzer şekilde ‘Bio-konstrüksiyon’ kavramının kapsamı da canlı dokunun işlenmesi veya yetiştirilmesinden başlayarak gezegenimize ait tüm canlılığın yapısal dönüşümüne kadar uzanır. Bu bağlamda Bio-konstrüktif sanat da yapısal manipülasyona tabi olan canlılığın ete kemiğe bürünen gerçekliği olarak makalede irdelenmekte ve anlamlandırılmaktadır. Bio-konstrüktif sanat bir medyum olarak bio-teknolojilerin kullanıldığı sembolik anlatılardan ziyade canlı dokunun gerçek anlamı ile yaratıldığı, işlendiği, genetik yapısı ile oynandığı uygulamalar ve performanslar olmaktadır. Hümanist, toplumsal yerleşik sistemlerin bio-teknolojik müdahaleler ile başkalaşması, diğer bir deyişle ‘bios’ ve ‘zoe’ ayrımının gün geçtikçe zorlaşması, insansonrası durumun gerçekliğini söz konusu eder. Makale seçili çalışmalar üzerinden bio-konstrüktif sanat edimini tanımlarken, insansonrası durumun niteliği ve bio-konstrüksiyon ile ilişkisi hakkında geliştirilen yaklaşımları da çözümler.

Bio-technological methods have played an active and decisive role in the development of civilization throughout human history. Seed breeding, fermentation, grafting, and similar natural techniques are being replaced by synthetic techniques developed in the laboratory, where living tissue is grown, structured, or manipulated. Molecular biology, nanotechnology, genetic engineering, transgenic and similar studies under the main heading of bio technology operate in a wide spectrum starting from the structural construction or breeding of a single organism, to the determination of the global existence of the socio-biological system. Similarly, the scope of the concept of 'Bio-construction' extends from the processing or cultivation of living tissue to the structural transformation of the entire life on our planet. In this context, Bio-constructive art is also examined and interpreted in the article as the incarnated reality of vitality subject to structural manipulation. Bio-constructive art can be defined as applications and performances in which living tissue is created, processed, and genetically modified, rather than symbolic narratives in which bio-technologies are used as a medium. Transformation of humanist, socially established systems with bio-technological interventions, in other words, the fact that the distinction between 'bios' and 'zoe' is getting constrained day by day, reveals the reality of the posthuman situation. While this research defines the bio-constructive practices of art and explains its difference from bioart through selected artworks, it also analyzes the approaches developed about the characteristics of the posthuman condition and its relationship with bio-construction. It can be thought that a unique contribution to the literatüre has been made with the interference that bio constructive art questions the border between naturality and artificiality.
