Modern ve sonrası dönemde nesnelerin sanatta temsil ve ifade biçimlerinde popüler kültürün etkisi

Abstract

Bu tez çalışması modern ve sonrası sanatların anlam ve temsiliyet paradigmalarının temelini oluşturan 20. yüzyılın sosyo-kültürel yapısı ve popüler kültür bağlamında sanat-nesne ilişkilerini ele almaktadır. Bu bağlamda modernist ve sonrasındaki süreçlerin, tüketim toplumunun ve pop-kültür hareketi ve kavramlarının toplumlar ve bireyler üzerinde yarattığı değişimler betimlenerek, imgeler dünyasında oluşan yeni ifade biçimlerinin hayata geçişleri izlenmiştir. Bu bağlamda Avangart sanat tan Romantizme, Sembolizmden, Sürrealizme kadar kimi sanat akımlarının nesne-anlam, nesne-kavram ve nesne-söylem ilişkileri bakımından irdelenmesi öngörülmüştür. Temsiliyetin her sanat akımında farklı ele alınışına eşlik eden nesne ve bu ilişkiye şahitlik eden değer kavramı üzerinden, pop kültürün, marka, ikonizm, fetişizm, yozlaşma, taklit, mahremiyet, geçicilik, kimlik, benzeştirme, yeniden üretme, taşıma, manipülasyon vb. paradigmalarının modern ve sonrasında sanatın sorgulama alanında nasıl şekillendiğinin incelenmesi yapılmaktadır. Kuramcıların ve eleştirmenlerin savlarının eşliğinde ve örneklemler üzerinden gidilerek, Modern ve sonrası sanat ruhunun ve bu çerçevede pop kültür kavramlarının, geleneksel kabuller ile yer değiştirme süreçlerinin tespiti yapılmış, çağdaş sanata zemin hazırlayan sosyalsanatsal etkilerin tartışılması öngörülmüştür.

This thesis focuses on art-object relations in the context of popular culture and sociocultural structure of the 20th century which forms the basis of the meaning and representation paradigms of modern and post-modern arts. In this regard, this body of work observes the processes of modernism, the notion of a consumerist society, pop culture concepts, and how they have an effect on individuals and society as a whole; leading to new shapes of expression being born from the imaginary. It envisages that the cultural conflicts that present a vision transform into the forms of expression existing in the timeline of arts; ranging from Avant-garde Art to Romanticism, Symbolism to Surrealism, and to examine them within the triangle of the objectsubject- imagination. This work explores how representation is defined in different art movements through subjects observing the problematic notions born from pop culture and later infused with the contemporary; such notions include being a brand, iconism, fetishism, degeneration, mimicry, privacy, temporariness, identity, assimilation, reproduction, transport, manipulation, and similar terms; aiming to answer how these notions came to be, ultimately showcasing the connection between the current age and contemporary art and how the latter shapes the other with the future years to come. Accompanied by the arguments of theorists and critics and by going through examples, the spirit of contemporary art and in this context, the pop culture and the communication age, the process of the shift from the traditional was believed to be achieved, and is giving birth to the discussion of the social-art relationship dynamic.
