Küreselleşme sürecinde sanatta ötekilik

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Güncel Sanat pratiğindeki yeni yönelimlere dikkat çekmek ve küreselleşme sürecinde gündeme gelen bir dizi sorunu, kültürel, kimliksel ve politik etkenler ekseninde irdeleyerek, Batı dışındaki dünyanın sanat alanında temsil bulma / görünür olma biçimlerine odaklanacaktır. Bu süreçte beliren alternatif varoluş biçimleri / tarzları ve temsiliyet modelleri üzerinde durulacaktır. Batılı ölçeklerde çalışan ve benzer formatlarda işleyen yapılara karşı ne tür alternatif yollar mevcut ya da nasıl bir karşı koyuş alanı oluşturulmaya çalışılıyor sorusu ise Doğulu, Orta Doğulu vb. sanatçıların küresel sisteme nasıl entegre olduğu ya da kendi kendini nasıl oryantalize ettiği meselesi üzerinden tartışılacaktır. Bu şekilde, küresel ekonomi ve kültür alanının çalışma tarzı da inceleneceğinden dolayı bir çözümleme sunmak da mümkün olabilecektir. Bu önermenin sunulabilmesi için belirli kavramların irdelenmesi ve bazı dönemlerin mercek altına alınması bir gerekliliktir. Bu doğrultuda belirli bir çerçeveyi oluşturup günümüze kadar gelen süreci ve bundan sonrasını yansıtabilmeyi başarabilmek için Post-kolonyalizm, Batıcılık ve Self-Orientalism, Post-fordizm gibi kavramlar üzerine odaklanılacaktır. Bu kapsamda, Küreselleşme-Küyerelleşme (Globalisation–Glocalisation) sürecindeki temsiliyet sorununa yönelerek, Batı dışındaki coğrafyalarda üreten ya da batıda eğitim alarak kendilerini uluslararası sanat pazarında görünür kılma çabası güden sanatçıların yaklaşımlarının hangi açılardan irdelenebileceği üzerinde durulacaktır. Bu sayede küreselleşmenin doğurduğu günümüz sanat politikalarına ilişkin sonuçlara; eleştirel, uzlaşımsal, müzakereci stratejiler üzerinden odaklanabilmek mümkün olacaktır.

By focusing on the new trends in contemporary art practice, this study will focus on the ways in which the world outside of the West will be represented / visible in the arts field, by examining a series of issues in the process of globalization, centered on cultural, identity and political factors. In this process, alternative forms of existence / styles and representation models will be emphasized. What kind of alternative ways are there or how to create a confrontation area against the ones working in Western scales and working in similar formats? It will try to be discussed through the question of how artists integrate into the global system or how they orientalizise themselves. In this way, it will be possible to provide an analysis as the way of working of the global economy and culture field which will also be examined. In order for this proposal to be presented, it is a necessity to examine certain concepts and to take some periods into consideration. Therefore is the focus on concepts such as Post-colonialism, Westernism and Self-Orientalism, and Post-Fordism in order to achieve a certain framework in this direction and to be able to reflect the process that has come up to the present day and to reflect the aftermath. Finding out how we can explore the geographical and art forms outside of the West through the apparent struggle of the western art market is one of our main issues as we face the problem of representation in the process of Globalization-Glocalization in our discussion. In this regard, we will be able to focus on critical, negotiating strategies to the results of today's art policies that globalization makes possible.
