The preparation of activated carbons from bean pods by chemical (K(2)CO(3)) and physical (water vapor) activation was investigated. The carbon prepared by chemical activation presented more developed porous structure than one obtained by water vapor activation. Carbon adsorbent with very low ash content and developed micropore structure is obtained by thermochemical treatment with conc.H(2)SO(4) of liquid products from carbonization of bean pods and activation with water vapour.

Driving forces of Turkey's transportation sector CO2 emissions: An LMDI approach
Işık, Mine; Sarıca, Kemal; Ari, İzzet (Elsevier Ltd, 2020-08-01)The transportation sector is one of the main contributors to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As the efforts towards emission mitigation increase, the expectation from the sector arises equally. In this analysis, the ... -
Measurement and assessment of fatigue life of spot-weld joints
Ertaş, Ahmet Hanifi; Vardar, Öktem; Sönmez, Fazıl Önder; Solim, Zafer (Asme-Amer Soc Mechanical Eng, 2009-01)Spot-weld joints are commonly used to fasten together metal sheets. Because fatigue fracture is the most critical failure mode for these joints under fluctuating loads, understanding their fatigue failure behavior and ...
