2010 Sonrası kadın yönetmenlerin filmlerinde kadın temsili: Türkiye örneği

Abstract

2000’li yıllarda Türkiye’de kadın yönetmenlerin filmlerinde bir artış olduğu ve bu yönetmenlerin kendi stillerini oluşturmaya başladıkları görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda yönetmenler, içinde yaşadıkları ataerkil toplumu göz önünde bulundurarak filmler üretmektedirler. Söz konusu yönetmenler, filmlerinde kadınların ataerkil toplumda yaşadıkları sorunları ele almaktadırlar. Bu çalışmada ataerkil bir toplumda yaşamını devam ettiren kadın yönetmenlerin kadın karakterleri nasıl temsil ettikleri tartışılacaktır. 2010 yılı ve sonrasının çalışmaya dahil edilmesinin nedeni; Türkiye’deki kadın yönetmenlerin filmlerinde kadınlara ilişkin sorunları yoğunlukla işlemiş olmalarıdır. Aynı zamanda bu yönetmenlerin filmlerindeki kadın karakterlerin sorunlarında benzerlik görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada kadınların sorunları, özel ve kamusal alanlardaki yerleri Feminist Kuram bağlamında incelenecektir. Çalışmada Türkiye’deki dört kadın yönetmenin dört filmi ele alınmıştır. Bunlar; Yeşim Ustaoğlu’nun Araf (2012), Pelin Esmer’in Gözetleme Kulesi (2012), Emine Emel Balcı’nın Nefesim Kesilene Kadar (2015) ve Ahu Öztürk’ün Toz Bezi (2015) filmidir.

With 2000s, there has been an increase in the films of female directors in Turkey and they have started to create their own styles. Considering the patriarchal society they live in, the directors were actually interested in the problems of women in society. These directors deal with the problems women experience in patriarchal society in their films. In this study, it will be discussed how female directors who live in a patriarchal society represent female characters. The reason for including the year 2010 and later in the study; The reason is that women directors in Turkey have intensively dealt with the problems of women in their films. At the same time, there is a similarity in the problems of the female characters in the films of these directors. In this study, women's problems and their place in private and public spheres will be examined in the context of feminist theory. In the study, four films of four female directors in Turkey were discussed. These; Yeşim Ustaoğlu's Araf (2012), Pelin Esmer's Gözetleme Kulesi (2012), Emine Emel Balcı's Nefesim Kesilene Kadar (2015) and Ahu Öztürk's Toz Bezi (2015).
