Otel yapılarında doğal taş bozulmalarına ilişkin bulguların örnekler üzerinden irdelenmesi ve analizi

Abstract

Günümüzde otellerin tasarımı ve bu tasarımın oluşturduğu atmosfer, otellerin konaklama harici tercih edilen mekanlar olmasına sebep olan etmenlerdendir. Mekan kavramı ise duyular ile deneyimlenmekte ve bu duyuların harekete geçmesine mekanda kullanılan malzemeler yardımcı olmaktadır. Özellikle kullanılan bu malzeme insanın varoluşundan beri yanında olan doğal taş ise, duyularla beraber oluşan mekanda farklılık göstermektedir. Doğal taş malzeme kullanılarak oluşturulan mekanlar “yaşayan mekan” olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Taşların mekanlara bu sıfatı vermesinin ana sebebi, her canlı gibi doğal ve birtakım gereksinimlere ihtiyaç duymasıdır. Gereksinimleri karşılanmayan doğal taşlar, zaman içerisinde birçok etmen ve koşul sebebiyle çeşitli bozulmalar göstermektedir. Bu durumlar, doğal kaynaklı olabildiği gibi yapay yani insan kaynaklıda olabilmektedir. Hava koşulları, doğal afetler, coğrafi konum vb. birçok doğal etmen taşlarda bozulmalar yaratmaktadır. Ancak günümüzde oluşan taş bozulmalarının ana sebebi yapay kaynaklı bozulmalar haline gelmiştir. Örneğin bunlar; doğal taş seçimi yaparken taş özelliklerinin bilinmemesi, taşın yanlış yerde kullanımı veya kullanım alanına uygun olmayan taş seçimi, taşın hatalı malzemeler ile temizlik, onarım vb. işlemlerinin yapılması, taşların fiziko-mekanik ve kimyasal özelliklerinin dikkate alınmaması gibi sebeplerdir. Her iki sebepten oluşan bozulmalar, birtakım temizleme işlemleri ve sağlamlaştırma çalışmaları ile ortadan kaldırılabilir veya bu bozulmaların bozulma hızı düşürülebilir. Taşların bu gibi gereksinimleri periyodik olarak karşılandığı takdirde, her iki bozulma sebebi de engellenebilir. Bu sebeple çalışmada; öncelikli olarak doğal taş tanım ve özelliklerinin incelenmesi ile elde edilen bilgilere dayanarak, seçilen taşların ne tür bozulmalar gösterdiklerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tez kapsamında seçili otellerde kullanılan doğal taş malzemesinde ki bozulmalar incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda yöresel taşlara sahip Mardin, Denizli ve Nevşehir ziyaret edilerek, bu şehirlerde belirlenen otellerdeki taşların bozulma türleri tespit edilmiştir. Doğal taş malzemesi ve bu malzemedeki bozulma türlerinin araştırılmasında kitap, makale, tez, internet gibi kaynakların yanı sıra yerinde inceleme ve konuda ilgili kişilerle röportajlar yapılmıştır.

Currently, the design of hotels and the atmosphere created by this design are factors that cause hotels to be preferred places other than accommodation. The concept of space is experienced by the senses, and the materials used in the space help these senses to act. Especially if this material used is a natural stone that has been with since his existence, it differs the space together with the senses. Spaces created using natural stone material are called “living spaces”. The main reason why stones give places this adjective is because, like every living thing, they need natural and certain requirements. Natural stones, whose requirements are not met, show various distortions over time due to many factors and conditions. These conditions can be of natural origin, as well as artificial, that is, human origin. Weather conditions, natural disasters, geographical location, etc. many natural factors create distortions in stones. But the main cause of stone distortions that occur today have become artificial-induced distortions. For example, they are; not knowing the properties of the stone when choosing natural stone, using the stone in the wrong place or choosing a stone that is not suitable for use, cleaning, repair of the stone with improper materials, etc. the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of stones are not taken into account. Distortions caused by both causes can be eliminated by various of cleaning operations and strengthening operations, or the rate of distortion can be reduced. If such requirements of stones are met periodically, both causes of deterioration can be prevented. For this reason, the study aimed to examine the types of distortions of the selected stones, based on the information obtained by studying the definition and properties of natural stones. Within the scope of the dissertation, the deterioration of the natural stone material used in selected hotels was examined. In this context, Mardin, Denizli and Nevsehir cities with local stones were visited and the types of deterioration of the stones in these hotels were identified. In the research of natural stone material and types of deterioration in this material; resources such as books, articles, thesis, the internet, as well as on-site research and interviews with relevant people were conducted.
