| dc.description.abstract | Creative activity is one of the most significant parts of architectural education. In the architectural curriculum organisation 'design studio' is the unique and preeminent subject. Freshman students encounter 'design' first in basic design course, before they know what designing incorporates. The Basic Design is the starting point of initiating creativity in architecture education. It helps each student to understand architecture as a creative and innovative practice in the first year of education. This study analyzes the characteristics of basic design course, the topics of the course contents and its significance in the architectural curriculum in Turkey as well. | en_US |
