Jacques Derrida’nın yapısökümü kuramı ile ‘Love is Lost’ - bir müzik videosu çözümlemesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, David Bowie’nin “Love is Lost” şarkısının videosu, Jacques Derrida’nın “Yapısökümü” [Déconstruction] kuramınından hareketle irdelenecek ve sözkonusu kuram merkez alınarak postmodern anlayışın popüler müzik alanındaki etkileri ve videokliplerdeki etkileri sorgulanacaktır. Bu çerçevede, Jean Baudrillard’ın Simülasyon kuramı da çözümlemede başvurulacak önemli katmanlardan biri olacaktır. Böylece bu çalışma, belki de günümüz müzik piyasasının bir uç örneği olarak kabul edebileceğimiz David Bowie’nin “Love is Lost” şarkısının videosunu, postmodern kuram ve argümanlar doğrultusunda tartışmayı deneyecektir.

This study aims to discuss David Bowie’s “Love is Lost” music video within the framework of Jacques Derrida’s Deconstruction theory. Our main goal is an exploration of the influences of this theory on popular music and video clips in the post-modern process. In this context, Jean Baudrillard’s simulation theory is another important layer to be applied in our analysis. While David Bowie’s “Love is Lost” video is perhaps not representative of todays music market, we will dissect the song and the video in the light of postmodern theories and arguments.
