dc.description.abstractBu çalışma, genç yetişkinlerde somatizasyon ile aleksitimi arasındaki ilişkide Zihin Kuramının (Theory of Mind, ZK) düzenleyici rolünü incelemekte ve biliş ile psikosomatik işleyişe ilişkin giderek artan literatüre katkıda bulunmayı amaçlamıştır. Nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden kesitsel araştırma modeli kullanılarak yürütülen çalışmaya 18-39 yaş aralığında olan 175 yetişkin birey katılım sağlamıştır. Katılımcılara Sosyodemografik Bilgi Formu, Gözlerden Zihin Okuma Testi, Somatizasyon Ölçeği, Toronto Aleksitimi Ölçeği ve Zihinselleştirme Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Araştırma verileri katılımcılarla yapılan yüz yüze görüşmeler yolu ile elde edilmiştir. Veri analizinde Bağımsız Örneklemler t-testi, Tukey testi, Games-Howell testi ve düzenleyici etki analizi için regresyon temelli düzenleyici değişken analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, somatizasyon düzeyi ile aleksitimi arasında anlamlı ve pozitif yönlü bir ilişki; zihinselleştirme düzeyi ile aleksitimi arasında anlamlı ve negatif yönlü bir ilişki olduğunu göstermiştir. Buna karşılık Gözlerden Zihin Okuma düzeyinin hem somatizasyon düzeyi hem de aleksitimi ile anlamlı ilişkisi olamadığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca Gözlerden Zihin Okuma düzeyi somatizasyon ile aleksitimi arasında düzenleyici değildir. Diğer taraftan zihinselleştirme modele dahil edildiğinde anlamlı bir düzenleyici etki göstermiştir. Sonuç olarak bulgular, somatizasyonun aleksitiminin anlamlı bir yordayıcısı olduğu, zihinselleştirmenin ise aleksitimi üzerinde koruyucu yönde bir etkisi bulunduğunu göstermektedir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, literatürdeki ilgili çalışmalar kapsamında tartışılmış; bulguların gelecek araştırmalara ve klinik uygulamalara yönelik olası katkıları değerlendirilmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis study examines the moderating role of Theory of Mind (ToM) in the relationship between somatization and alexithymia among young adults, thereby contributing to the growing body of literature on social cognition and psychosomatic functioning. Employing a cross-sectional research design within the framework of quantitative methods, the study was conducted with 175 adult participants aged 18 to 39. Participants completed a Sociodemographic Information Form, the Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test, the Somatization Scale, the Toronto Alexithymia Scale, and the Mentalization Scale. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews. Independent Samples t-tests, OneWay ANOVA, Tukey and Games–Howell post-hoc tests, and Hayes’ PROCESS Macro Model 1 were used in the data analysis. The findings revealed a significant positive relationship between somatization and alexithymia, as well as a significant negative relationship between mentalization and alexithymia. In contrast, Reading the Mind in the Eyes scores were not significantly associated with either somatization or alexithymia, nor did they function as a moderator in the relationship between these two variables. However, when mentalization was included in the model, it demonstrated a significant moderating effect. In conclusion, the results indicate that somatization is a significant predictor of alexithymia, whereas mentalization exerts a protective influence on alexithymic traits. These findings are discussed in light of existing literature, and potential implications for future research and clinical practice are evaluated.en_US
